Pro Photo Services
What Is It?

I want to try and keep this streamlined and to the point.

I have the time, equipment, talent, and experience to offer you professional photo retouching and restoration services at a reasonable price. I've devoted a lot of my energy developing this passion, and I want to make my talents available to you.

I offer various levels of photo retouching and restoration services. Most of these services revolve around the photos (digital or print) and how to make them better—whether that means improving or repairing. I also offer otherservices like archiving, printing, and mailing. Visit my services page to see the specifics of what I have to offer.

Take a look around my site to learn more about me and my qualifications. Photo work, along with music and writing, is central to my personal and professional life.

How Does It Work?

I am offering my services, which is different from going online and buying something like a book. The services are not complicated in and of themselves, but when you explore all the permutations of unique photos and service options, I have decided not to present you with a 18-page form that will take an hour for you to fill out.

I want to make it easier than that. Here goes.

#InstructionsPage
1. Take a look at my Services page to see your options. Services
2. Contact me through E-mail or use the form on the Quote page with the number and type of photos you have, and the services you would like. Quote
3. You will receive a quote back from me. If that's cool, we're good to go. I reserve the right to make adjustments to the quote based on the actual photos you send, but I will not do so unless I communicate that to you and we agree. That might be a possibility if you send a photo and it's far more damaged than I thought and we mis-categorized the type of restoration required. N/A
4. Upload the photos from the Upload page. If it's a unique situation or you are asking for bulk services... don't worry, I won't have you upload 60 photos, one at a time. We can work something out where you e-mail them to me or FTP (file transfer protocol) them to a special area of my site. If you're comfortable with FTP, we might just jump right there. I use FTP whenever I can. Upload
5. I will do the work, and then send you two e-mails.

One will contain samples of the finished photos for you to see before making payment. I want you to get what you pay for, and if you have questions, I will explain why I have made certain creative decisions. This is an art, after all. My style plays a significant role in the process. I will honor reasonable requests to make changes.

The second e-mail will be a PayPal invoice.

6. You will be able to click a link in the PayPal invoice and pay through PayPal. It's very easy and you don't even need to have an account with them.

7. I will make a special download area available for you to get your photos. N/A

What's Your Style?

One of the things that separates me from many others who work on photos is my natural style. My goal is to make photos better, but never fake. To me, the perfectly restored or retouched photo is one where the photo is improved/restored/saved/retouched and my presence is invisible. In other words, you shouldn't be able to tell I've done anything without comparing it side-by-side with the original!

Expectations are clearly important here. Taken out of context, that means some of the photos I work on and return to you may not be "wow-ers". They will be, however, better than the original and my hand will be as invisible as I can make it. If that means stopping at a point where there is still visible damage, but damage I cannot repair without making it obvious, I stop.

To me, a damaged photo is more artistic and viable that a photo that has been obviously botched!

I take great pride in this, and want to be up front with you so you know what to expect.

This only applies to normal retouching and restoring. There are special circumstances, such as glamour shots, where I alter my style to fit the genre. I clearly approach artistic creations, montages, fun stuff, and some historical work differently. In other cases, the photo is so badly damaged or exposed that I have set aside my light hand in order to get anything worthwhile out of it.

How Long Will It Take?

3-5 business days in most cases, assuming a limited number of photos or light retouching on more. If my schedule is such that I can't make that committment, I will tell you when I provide the quote.

How Much Is It?

Drop by the Services page and have a look.

My prices range from $0.60 per photo for bulk digital retouching on up. I offer a wide range of services and price points. I don't expect everyone to be interested in every service I have, but I am committed to addressing a variety of needs and budgets.

How Do I Pay?

PayPal is a great way to protect both of us. You pay me through PayPal without having to give me any financial information. I have used it as a consumer and have never had a problem. In fact, it's given me great peace of mind knowing that my financial privacy is protected.
