With that said, have fun and don't hold back. It took me some effort to "get it", even when I knew the techniques behind HDR. Taking the best photo at the best time is more important than you might think, but with HDR there seems to be an unpredictability that's, well, hard to predict. Look for lots of contrast, texture, and detail. HDR excels at bringing those out. Smooth, glassy stuff—not so much—unless there are a lot of color differences. I try to look for drama, but to each his own.

Before long, you won't need these at all!
